In an attempt to use more scraps and try something new, I created this belated birthday card.

ree

I had precolored this Lawn Fawn sloth (from Hang in There) with copics for The Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge in June. And so I set out to use some other supplies I already had, as opposed to cutting into a new sheet of cardstock...and out came the scrapbox.

I'm pretty sure these papers are from a Paper Studio Valentine's paper pad, but I thought they coordinated pretty well.

I cut down the scraps into an A2 card panel and two rectangles using my paper trimmer. I tried to do something different with my layout by turning the paper at an angle instead of having it straight like I usually do.

I glued down the rectangles with Tombow Mono liquid glue and then tried to work out the best way to situate the sloth and sentiment.

After I had attached the image, the card seemed a little too "heavy" on the right so I added some sparkly stars to the opposite side to even it out.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink under the image and attached the card panel to a premade card base with my ATG gun.

I have to admit this card wasn't my favorite, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. With the pink and the rainbow colors, I'm getting some Lisa Frank vibes and its really growing on me. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Back at it again with this cutesy card set using, you guessed it, Simon Says Stamp's ornate background stamp! I just can't get enough :)

For this card set, I went with a softer look using some tone on tone stamping.

First, I cut down some 65 lb. Recollections cardstock into A2 card bases using my paper trimmer.

With the MISTI, I stamped each panel with Versamark ink and set it aside to dry.

As always, these cards could be useful for any situation by simply changing up the sentiment. For my set, I used the stamp sets Card Phrases by Stampibilites and a stamp and die cut set called Thinking of you by Art-C.

I used some white detail embossing powder by Recollections and Versamark ink to heat emboss the sentiments onto some black cardstock.

I trimmed down the sentiments and added a flagged end to some and just placed them where I thought they looked best, gluing them down with double sided tape.

With my ATG gun, I attached the card panels to some premade Recollections card bases and that's it!

I think these cards make are a perfect addition to any stash, which you can very easily pull out and send for any occasion. Not only that, but I think they'd make an awesome gift set for just about anyone. :)

After scrolling through Pinterest I came across a gorgeous card by @peppermintpatty42 on Instagram, and I had to give it a go.

The boot image is from My Favorite Thing's stamp set You Gnome Me. I colored it using Zig real brush markers and added Ranger Liquid Pearls in the color brass to the centers of the flowers.

I die cut some 110 lb. Recollections card stock with Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle stackables for the the A2 panel and a stitched square die as well.

I added foam tape to the boot image and layered it onto the stitched square. Then I used some fun foam to layer the square onto the card base with double sided tape.

Once the card base was assembled, I used Hero Arts Everyday Sayings for the sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment by stamping with Versamark ink and Recollections black embossing powder.

Finally, I attached the card panel to a premade Recollections card base with my ATG gun.

This is a clean and simple card, but I think it has a very classy look overall. I love it! And even though the inspiration photo was a birthday card, I think the design will work with pretty much any sentiment.
