Hello!

I recently discovered the Prima paper line Dulce and fell in love with it! The soft colors and carnival vibes inspired me to create this card.

It definitely took awhile to break into the gorgeous paper pad, but once I did, I knew the perfect stamps to use with it. Oddly enough, the latest Halloween stamps from Doodlebug's Candy Carnival worked perfectly with the fun fair theme.

To start, I stamped the cotton candy, cotton candy stand, the awning of the cotton candy stand, the caramel apple, and the popcorn images with Gina K. black amalgam ink, onto a piece of 80 lb. Neenah solar white card stock. Then, I colored them in using Copic markers that would coordinate with the paper pad.

I fussy cut all the images leaving a white border, except for the awning, which I cut against the black line. I used glue dots to attach the awning and give a teeny bit of dimension (AKA DIY Doodlepop!😄).

Once the images were complete, I moved on to the main front panel. I used my paper trimmer to cut down a piece of the patterned paper that looked like a jawbreaker, to 4.25"x5.5" size.

I looked through my scrap drawer for a piece of white glitter card stock. I happened to find a piece that was already cut, being the negative half of a Lawn Fawn stitched border from an earlier project, and trimmed that down to 5.5" as well.

After that, I decided I wanted to pop up the glitter card stock with some foam tape, but it seemed a little too plain. To change it up, I added some baker's twine, wrapping it around the card stock twice, and then tied a bow. Then I attached the foam tape and placed it at the top of the main panel.

I heat embossed the sentiment "You're sweet!" from the same stamp set, with white embossing powder onto a piece of light blue card stock. I used a Lawn Fawn Everyday Banner die to cut it out and attached it to the card front with foam tape as well.

I used some light pink streamers to create the crepe paper rosette and added the cotton candy images on top with some Tombow Mono liquid adhesive. Then I used the same glue to adhere the whole piece to the card front.

Once everything was attached, I added some sparkle to the images with a Wink of Stella brush pen and a few flat back faux crystals around the sentiment. With that, the front was done and I added it to an A2 110 lb. white card base.

And because I couldn't leave behind any of the Dulce paper, I used up the scraps and the rest of my colored images and added them to the inside of the card.

Oh my! I am so excited to share my very first design team project for Thoughtful Studio with you today. It has always been a goal of mine to create projects as part of a design team, and let me tell ya...I couldn't have asked for a better group to be a part of.

Marie is the wonderful person behind all the lovely, hand-drawn patterns in the Tess-A-Penpal collection that I used during this project. I am so lucky to be a part of such a talented group of people and I hope you will check out the other designers as well. ;)

Looking at the paper collection, I was inspired to make a card centered on the words and emotions that surrounded me during my experience so far. I have encountered nothing but kindness and consideration from Marie and the rest of the design team, and so my final project is a result of that.

To start, I gathered my favorite patterns and narrowed them down to the two that I am especially fond of. The navy blue hellebore flowers and the textured heart images were a perfect match for the shaker card I wanted to make.

I cut down the heart paper to 4.25" x 5.5" using my paper trimmer and pulled out the largest heart die from Lawn Fawn's outside in stitched heart stackables. I centered the die towards the top of the paper and ran it through my Sizzix BIGkick.

Next, I trimmed down a piece of the flower paper just large enough to fill in the space left by the die and layered it behind the heart paper. Using some more of the flower card stock, I cut apart the different images in the pattern to make some additional embellishments.

Before I began to assemble the shaker, I made up a small mix of sequins and seed beads from my stash in coordinating colors to the papers. Then I attached a piece of acetate to the back of the heart paper using 1/8" double sided tape to create the window.

I built up the main panel using two layers of foam tape in thin strips, to enclose the heart shape, and thicker strips on the rest of the panel. I added some powder from my embossing tool to the window before adding the sequins to reduce static. Then, I dumped the shaker mix onto the blue flower card stock and placed the front panel on top of that.

For the sentiment, I used a piece of ephemera from the collection that read "Just for You." I glued down the flowers I had trimmed out earlier, along with the sentiment, to the bottom portion of the card. I added foam tape to one of the flowers to provide some extra dimension.

To finish, I attached the shaker panel to an A2 sized 110 lb. card base using liquid glue.

After finishing the first card, I still had the large stitched heart die cut left and thought it would be cute on another card.

With the rest of the blue flower patterned paper, I cut out a smaller heart with the same Lawn Fawn dies. I took another white A2 card base and overlapped the two hearts on the front.

For the sentiment, I used the same ephemera as before, but in a different color, and placed that on top of the hearts.

For the embellishments, I picked out some homemade enamel dots in coordinating colors from my stash.

As a final step, I used some pink and white baker's twine to tie a bow at the top of the card.

Hello!

This Harry Potter inspired birthday card was so fun to make! I used bright colors and these adorable images from Trinity Stamps to create this fun, interactive card.

ree

To start, I stamped out the images from the stamp set, Happee Birthdae, with Gina K. black ink onto a piece of 80 lb. Neenah card stock.

I then went on to color the images using Copic markers and added a few white gel pen highlights. The rest of the images were accumulated during the last Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge, so I was raring to go.

I used Lawn Fawn's scalloped box die to cut out the main components of the box card from some blue-green card stock. Before assembling, I set it aside to work on the ink blended background pieces.

Using a piece of Canson watercolor paper and a blending brush, I blended together picked raspberry, seedless preserves, and wilted violet distress oxide inks.

I trimmed down the blended background to fit the flaps on the box card, including the outside. Then I used the stitched rectangles from the die set to cut out the rest of the panel pieces from a sheet of purple card stock.

For the sentiment, I used the stamp set Magical Sentiments, and pieced together "Wishing you a Magical birthday." With Versamark ink, I added it to the larger stitched rectangle piece and heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder.

I did the same thing to the other two purple pieces using small images from the stamp sets Wizard Friends and Magical Wizards.

Once all the pieces were complete I began to assemble the box. I used Lawn Fawn 1/4" double-sided tape on all the tabs and burnished it down with my bone folder. I first adhered the two main pieces and then added one side of each of the inserts.

I removed the release paper from the other side of the inserts and closed the box over top of that to attach the other sides.

From there, I started adhering the ink blended background to the inside, as well as the heat embossed panels. After that, I added the characters to the inserts and popped out the owl by attaching the image to a strip of acetate.

On to outside I added more of the ink blended pieces and decorated those with the rest of my colored images.

I also included a piece of white card stock on the back of the box card to create space for a message.
