Farmers Market - Not 2 Shabby

Happy Sunday!

Today I am happy to share my first project for the Not 2 Shabby Instagram Digital Stamp Creative Team.

I am so excited to be part of such a talented group of crafters!

As well as create projects using Jamie's adorable digi stamps.

If you've been following me for a little bit, you've probably already seen some of her images across my Instagram during the Daily Marker 30 day.

These new images were so fun to use!

For this card, I used the newly released Farmers Market digi stamp set to create this interactive pop up box card.

I started by creating a cut file for my Cricut that would make up the box and inserts. I wanted the card to still be able to fit into a standard A2 envelope, so I sized the main panel to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" plus a little tab measuring about 1/2".

The box inserts measured about 3 5/8" x 1", which also included the tabs that fold in.

I cut out two of the green panels shown below and added 1/8" double sided tape to the tabs on all the cut pieces.

Then I attached everything on one side, leaving the release paper in tact on the other side.

I then measured and adjusted the stamps before I printed them, so that they would fit onto the box card panels. This made the main booth image about 3 1/4" x 4 1/4".

I used Copic markers to color in all the images and fussy cut them out. I used an X-acto knife inside the window and was very careful around the flags. I still managed to tear the banner, but I was able to glue it back into place once I attached it to the box panel.

I cut out the the rest of the images from inside the window area and added them onto an insert. I did the same for the corn, apples, and sunflowers and placed more of the images onto the second insert.

Once I had all the images in place, I removed the release paper from the tabs on the opposite side and closed the final side of the box, so that everything was attached.

This digi set includes a lot of cute sentiments, which I was going to add to a banner and glue to the front, but once I finished, I thought a white embossed sentiment would look nice.

I used a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Thanks a Bushel and some white detail embossing powder to add across the front of the card.

I think this is the perfect summer card. It's so fun and colorful and gets me excited for warmer weather. 🌞🌻

Toile Away, Tessa Tag - Thoughtful Studio (and GIVEAWAY)

I am so excited to share my next project for Thoughtful Studio using the newly released Toile Away, Tessa paper collection!

When I first seen these gorgeous blue floral patterns, I immediately fell in love. They are so reminiscent of the blue and white china that my great grandma had on display in her dining room.

Those sweet memories inspired me to create a cute tag featuring a little afternoon tea scene.

To start, I used my Cricut to cut out a teapot, teacup, and saucer from the patterned paper and a spoon from white card stock. I used a mix of cool gray Copic markers to add dimension to the pieces and color in the spoon. I also used a white gel pen for adding highlights.

I cut the tag from another patterned paper in the collection to 3" x 5 1/2" and trimmed off the top two corners. I added a white tablecloth to the scene using white card stock and a lace edge die from Pinkfresh Sudio.

I used the same pattern as the tea set and layered it under the white card stock piece. I thought the scene needed another little pop of color, so I used a floral stamp set from Stampibilities to add a little bunch of flowers. I stamped it with Fadeout ink from Inkon3 and did some no line coloring with Copic markers and fussy cut the image.

I arranged everything on the tag base and used liquid adhesive to glue down all the pieces. I stamped a sentiment with Versafine Clair ink using a stamp from the Carta Bella stamp set Let Love Bloom, that read "Life is Beautiful."

I punched a hole at the top of the tag and added 1/8" blue and white ribbon. I created a little reinforcement for the hole using the same patterned paper as well.

For the final step, I used white liquid pearls to add some extra embellishments.

I had a lot of fun creating this tag and definitely took a step past my normal coloring abilities, which I think turned out pretty good. 😊

#Happymayl Challenge: Snailmail Folder - Thoughtful Studio

Hello!

This is my project for week two of the #happymayl challenge for Thoughtful Studio: a snailmail folder! 😄

To start my snailmail folder, I decided to print the grayscale version of the freebies, which oddly enough, inspired this rainbow explosion!

Once I had the printed envelope pattern in front of me, all I wanted to do was color it in. I used Copic markers to fill in the envelopes and distress inks to blend across the two other black and white patterns.

I fussy cut all the ephemera and used the same Copic markers to color in the lightest #happymayl piece rainbow to match.

I trimmed down a sheet of blue card stock to 7" x 10" and scored it down the middle to get a 5" x 7" folder.

I used the last black and white freebie pattern and cut it down to 5" x 7" to cover the front of the folder. I layered the two distress inked panels and some of the ephemera to the front as well, and adhered it all with liquid glue.

To create the pockets, I trimmed down two pieces of the colored envelope pattern to 4 1/4" x 2 3/4". I also cut two 1/2" x 7" strips to line each edge of the folder. I used 1/8" double sided tape to attach the pockets and embellished them with more ephemera.

I took a premade A2 envelope to add an extra pocket to the folder by gluing down the flap to the inside back of the folder. I lined the inside with a piece of yellow card stock to add some extra support to the fold.

I embellished the rest of the folder with the ephemera pieces and the remaining card stock.

I had so much fun creating this rainbow happymail! 🌈😊 I hope you will play along with this challenge, I can't wait to see what you create!
