Hi there!

Today I'm sharing my latest DT project for Kinda Cute using a combination of digital stamps to create this fun and colorful mermaid slimeline card.

To start, I brought all my digi images into Inkscape and sized them to fit onto a 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" card and then printed them onto a piece of 80 lb. Neenah card stock.

Instead of Copics, I reached for my much less used Prismacolor pencils. I was so inspired to give them a go after seeing some wonderful colored pencil coloring on Instagram during the Daily Marker 30 day.

I chose a lot of bright colors to fill in all the images and then fussy cut them out.

For my underwater background, I blended cracked pistachio and peacock feathers distress ink onto a piece of bristol card stock with a foam blending tool.

To add texture, I sprayed the background with my distress sprayer and removed the excess water with a paper towel. Once it dried, I used an embossing stylus to add picket fence distress paint across the inked panel.

I used the Ocean Borders Die from Craftin' Desert Divas for the stitched waves and ocean bottom. I used the die to cut my inked panel at the top and layered the negative piece behind the rest of the panel to create different waves.

I used the ocean floor die with the coral to cut another piece of bristol card stock and colored the whole piece using various distress inks. I used the embossing stylus again to add black and white dots onto the sand.

Before I glued down the wave panels, I used broken china distress ink and a stencil to create some clouds at the top of the card. Then I lined up the mermaid on a rock image behind the wave panels and then glued them in place.

I also glued down the sand border and the rest of my images, trimming off the edges where anything hung over.

I used the "waving hello" sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Mermaid for You, and stamped it onto the inked panel using VersaFine Clair black ink.

I added some clear matte enamel dots on the front as well, which I thought looked like bubbles.

Then I glued the whole piece onto a 110 lb. white card base.

I think this card turned out so colorful and cute! 🧜‍♀️🏝☀ It was perfect to send to my niece in Florida for her seventh birthday. 😄
