Masculine Birthday Card

Hi there!
For this card, I needed a hunting themed birthday card kind of last minute. Looking through my stamps I thought, "No problem, I'm sure I have something HAHA!" but funnily enough, my only hunting themed stamps are a set of digi stamps I had just used for Father's Day. So I struggled for a bit, but then I started to look through my patterned papers for inspiration.

I had recently purchased the Craftsmart cedar lodge hot buy paper pad from Micheals and started to flip through it. It had a lot of wood grain, plaid, and darker colored patterned papers, and this bluish/gray plaid caught my eye.
I picked out some grays from a pack of Recollections 65 lb. cardstock I thought would coordinate and used my Scan 'N Cut to cut out a previously purchased frame .svg file. From there, I went on the hunt (LOL) for a deer silhouette.
I didn't have any dies, so my first thought was Etsy. I came across some digi stamps that worked great from a store called Prettygrafik. I picked one, printed it out, and used my Scan 'N Cut in order to cut the shape several times out of some black cardstock.
I used Art Glitter Glue and the fine point applicator to layer the cut pieces together for some slight dimension.

The hunting theme mixed with the lodge paper, gave off a real rustic vibe and made me think of a little cabin in the woods. So I knew I wanted to incorporate some wood grain texture and for that I used the Hero Arts wood grain texture fancy die.
What I thought would really make the wood grain panel stand out, was a piece of DCWV textured Neutrals cardstock. I think it looks a lot more realistic with the added texture as opposed to just smooth cardstock.
For the sentiment, I actually used a piece of Christmas cardstock from DCWV Very Merry paper pad and a Lawn Fawn Everyday Banner die. I thought the lighter wood grain paper looked nice against the darker colors of the rest of the card.
And for a little shine, I used Recollection's gold detail embossing powder with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Oh Gnome, and some Ranger Liquid Pearls in a matching gold.

I layered everything together onto an A2 sized cardbase with Tombow Mono Liquid glue.
I also made a coordinating envelope using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Tender Thoughts with Lawn Fawn Manatee ink.
Thanks for stopping by!
