After my Scan ‘N Cut experiment with the last train card didn’t go as well as I would’ve liked, I decided I wanted to have another go at it. So my brother-in-law ended up with two train cards for his birthday. LOL!

This time I went with a Tim Holtz distressed look, using distress oxide inks and the On the Railroad stamp set. I stamped out the train and ticket image onto some 110 lb. white cardstock and diecut them with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I went around the edges and onto the center of each image with a mixture of pretty much all the brown distress oxide colors. I also added a tiny bit of cracked pistachio to the ticket image. Then I sprayed them with the distress sprayer.

For the paper, I used a paper pad from Hobby Lobby called Uncharted by The Paper Studio. I found the brown ribbon and the pocket watch charm at Hobby Lobby as well.

I didn’t have any sentiments that fit the style I was going for so I searched online for a distressed font. Once I found one I liked, I typed out “happy birthday” in MS Word and printed it onto some 65 lb. white cardstock. Then I used a Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner to cut out the sentiment.
I assembled everything onto an A2 cardbase using Tombow Mono Liquid glue and a glue dot for the watch charm.
I’m so much happier with how this card turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!
